2024 Chemistry Award Recipient

Beyza Bektasoglu, a remarkable addition to the Sahu Research Group, joined us in early 2024 and quickly made a significant impact on our ongoing KCNE3 membrane protein research. As a Chemistry major and recipient of the 2024 Chemistry Award, her dedication and expertise shone through in her work.

Beyza's primary focus was investigating the intricate connections between the KCNE3 membrane protein and Long QT Syndrome. Her insightful contributions helped deepen our understanding of how this protein influences cardiac health, addressing a condition that poses challenges in clinical settings.

Graduating in May 2024, Beyza leaves a legacy of research excellence and innovation. We are excited to see where her journey will take her as her future holds tremendous potential, and we are proud to have had her as part of our team.
